ll Conservatorio di Musica “Egidio Romualdo Duni” di Matera presenta PNRR P+ARTS – Design delle Emozioni un intenso programma di eventi diviso in due appuntamenti mensili. La prima parte Design delle Emozioni pt. I dall’8 al 10 aprile 2026 che unisce concerti d’eccellenza e installazioni immersive, nel segno della sperimentazione e del dialogo tra arti. Gli incontri musicali si articolano in tre appuntamenti che attraversano linguaggi e tradizioni diverse, offrendo prospettive sul rapporto tra interpretazione, memoria storica e ricerca sonora.
Il ciclo si apre con Mario Brunello, tra i più autorevoli violoncellisti del panorama internazionale, che accosta le Suites di Johann Sebastian Bach, fondamento del repertorio per violoncello solo,
alle Sonate di Mieczysław Weinberg, voce originale del Novecento europeo. In questo dialogo tra epoche, il violoncello diventa spazio espressivo capace di sostenere l’intero discorso musicale, dalla polifonia barocca alla tensione novecentesca.
Segue il Chigiana Keyboard Ensemble, quattro pianisti che esplorano la scrittura per più pianoforti con musiche di David Lang, Darius Milhaud e Simeon ten Holt. Il ciclo si conclude con Blues & Bach – The Music of John Lewis: il Trio di Enrico Pieranunzi, con l’Ensemble del Conservatorio “E. R. Duni”di Matera diretto da Michele Corcella, rende omaggio al fondatore del Modern Jazz Quartet, la cui musica unisce jazz e contrappunto di ascendenza bachiana.
The “Egidio Romualdo Duni” Conservatory of Music in Matera presents PNRR P+ARTS – Design of Emotions, an intensive program of events divided into two monthly sessions. The first part, Design of Emotions Pt. I, takes place from April 8 to 10, 2026, combining outstanding concerts and immersive installations in the spirit of experimentation and dialogue between the arts. The musical events are organized into three sessions that span different musical languages and traditions, offering perspectives on the relationship between interpretation, historical memory, and sound exploration.
The series opens with Mario Brunello, one of the most distinguished cellists on the international scene, who juxtaposes Johann Sebastian Bach’s Suites—the cornerstone of the solo cello repertoire—
with the Sonatas of Mieczysław Weinberg, an original voice of 20th-century Europe. In this dialogue across eras, the cello becomes an expressive space capable of sustaining the entire musical discourse, from Baroque polyphony to 20th-century tension.
Next up is the Chigiana Keyboard Ensemble, four pianists exploring music for multiple pianos with works by David Lang, Darius Milhaud, and Simeon ten Holt. The series concludes with “Blues & Bach – The Music of John Lewis”: Enrico Pieranunzi’s Trio, together with the “E. R. Duni” Conservatory Ensemble of Matera conducted by Michele Corcella, pays tribute to the founder of the Modern Jazz Quartet, whose music blends jazz with Bach-inspired counterpoint.
